GoBuildWP invoices and downloads: where to find
GoBuildWP invoices and downloads, plus your licence key: create an account at app.gobuildwp.com, link Pro under Licences, then open the Freemius portal.
Which download needs an account?
GoBuildWP invoices and downloads are split between two places, and only the GoBuildWP Pro download sits behind a sign-in. GoBuildWP Free needs none: the current release (1.18.6) comes straight from gobuildwp.com/download/latest, an address that always points at the newest installable ZIP, and the same file is attached to every release on GitHub.
Pro is sold and licensed through Freemius, and Freemius keeps the licence key, the Pro ZIP, invoices, the subscription and the saved payment method. Your GoBuildWP account at app.gobuildwp.com sits beside it: it finds your licence by email, shows the plan, the seats and the sites running Pro, holds your support requests, and links you on to Freemius for the billing records. The old account page on our former domain, with its emailed sign-in links and its Freemius password tab, has been retired, and that address now forwards to app.gobuildwp.com. Your licence is matched on the address you paid with, so have that inbox open before you start.
How do I create the account?
1. Open app.gobuildwp.com/register. The page is headed "Create your account", with the line "Free for up to 3 sites. A Pro licence raises the limit." The Single Site plan keeps the limit at 3; 10 Sites and the larger plans raise it.
2. Under "Email", type the address you bought Pro with. Choose a password of at least 12 characters and press "Create account". There are no rules about symbols or capitals, but a password found in a known data breach is refused, as is one that is simply your email address.
3. The form answers "Check your inbox for a link to confirm your email." The emailed link works for 24 hours and opens a page headed "Confirm your email". Type the password you chose a moment ago and press "Confirm and continue". The page asks for it again on purpose: the link proves you own the mailbox, the password proves you are the person who registered, so nobody who signed up with your address before you can have their account switched on by your click.
4. You land on Overview, signed in. Until that confirmation is done, no licence can be found for you, because only a confirmed address is searched.
The form answers the same way for every address. If the address already has an account, nothing new is created; that inbox gets a "You already have a GoBuildWP account" email with a password-reset link instead.
Later visits go through app.gobuildwp.com/login, headed "Sign in". "Forgot password?" opens "Reset your password", where "Send reset link" emails a link that works once, for 30 minutes. Under Settings > Security the "Signed-in sessions" card lists where you are signed in; sessions end after 7 days without use, or 30 days at most.
How is my Pro licence linked?
Open Licences in the sidebar. There is no key to paste: the page looks up every Freemius licence bought with your confirmed account email, re-checking each time it opens, and the heading reads "Your plan: " followed by the plan it found, or Free when it found none.
The "Pro licences" card names the addresses it searched, starting "Found by your verified email". Each licence row shows the plan, a licence number after a # sign, how many site activations are used out of how many (or "unlimited"), and a renewal or expiry date, or "lifetime". On the right it is marked Active, Cancelled or Expired: Active while Freemius reports the licence as not cancelled and its end date has not passed, Cancelled when Freemius has cancelled the licence itself, and Expired once the end date passes. Only an active licence sets your plan; a cancelled or lapsed one stays listed so you can see what happened to it. Stopping a yearly renewal in the Freemius portal is a subscription change, so read the end date on the row rather than expecting the label to change that day. Plan names are the seat count: Single Site, 10 Sites, 100 Sites and Unlimited Sites. Licences bought before October 2026 may still show the earlier names Solo, Crew, Fleet and Command; the seats are the same.
The second card, "Where GoBuildWP Pro is installed", lists each site your licences report, with the Pro version it runs and a dot marking whether that install is active or switched off. "No Pro activations yet." means no site has activated the key.
These figures come from Freemius, not from your sites. Freemius changes are applied every five minutes and the whole record is re-checked once a day, so a licence bought a few minutes ago, or a seat moved this morning, can take a little while to appear. The Licence screen in wp-admin is the live answer for any one site.
Bought Pro with a different email?
A licence bought with a work address, a client's address or an old mailbox can still count for this account, once you prove you can read that inbox. On Licences, use the card headed "Bought Pro with a different email?":
1. Enter the address under "Email used at checkout", your account password under "Your GoBuildWP password", and press "Send link".
2. The card answers "Check" followed by that address and "for a link to confirm it's yours." The email is titled "Link this email's GoBuildWP Pro licence", names the account asking, and its link works for 24 hours. Requesting again cancels the earlier link, so always use the newest.
3. The link opens "Link your Pro licence". Press "Link licence". The page confirms "Email linked. Any Pro licence bought with it now applies to your account."
Linked addresses are listed under the form, each with a "Remove" button, and the Pro licences card then counts them in its "Found by" line. A licence email belongs to one GoBuildWP account at a time: proving it from a second account moves it there. The exception is an address that is itself the sign-in email of another GoBuildWP account. That account keeps its licences, and the link page says to sign in with it or contact support to move the licence.
Where are the key, the ZIP and the invoices?
The licence key, the Pro ZIP, invoices, receipts, the subscription and the saved payment method are all held by Freemius. To reach them, open Licences and press "Billing, invoices and licence keys" at the foot of the Pro licences card. It opens the Freemius customer portal at users.freemius.com in a new tab. That portal has its own sign-in, separate from your GoBuildWP password, and it is keyed on the email you paid with, which is the one to use there.
GoBuildWP never shows the key on purpose. The copy of your Freemius record that the account reads has the key field removed before it is stored, so no page at app.gobuildwp.com can display it, leave it in a browser cache or hand it to an extension.
A licensed WordPress site offers a route from the other side. Pro builds already in the field carry an "Invoices and account" button on GoBuildWP > Licence, and an "Open your account" button on the activation screen. Both open your account page in a new tab and land on app.gobuildwp.com; Pro builds released before the rename open it on our former domain, which forwards there. You arrive on Overview if you are signed in, or on the Sign in page if not. From there, Licences and the billing link take you the rest of the way.
What does this account message mean?
"That email and password don't match an account." The sign-in form gives this one answer for an unknown address, a wrong password and a temporarily locked account, so it never reveals which addresses are registered. After three failures it adds "Please complete the security check." After ten in fifteen minutes the account locks for fifteen minutes and its owner is emailed a reset link. "Forgot password?" is quicker than guessing.
"Please confirm your email first. We've sent you a new link." The password was right, but the account was never confirmed. A fresh 24-hour link is on its way.
"This link has expired or was already used. Sign in, or register again to get a new one." The confirmation link is more than 24 hours old or has been used. Registering again with the same address sends a new one.
"That isn't the password chosen for this sign-up. Forgotten it? Register again with the same email and use the newest link." Registering again before confirming replaces the password, so the newest one is what the confirmation page expects.
"No Pro licence for this email." Freemius has no licence for any address the account searched. Either the purchase used another address, which the different-email card fixes, or it is minutes old and not synced yet.
"That's already your account email." The address entered on the different-email card is the one you sign in with; it is searched already.
"That password isn't right." The different-email card asks for your GoBuildWP password, not a Freemius one.
"This email belongs to another GoBuildWP account. Sign in with that account, or contact support to move the licence." Shown on the link page when the address you proved is another account's sign-in email.
"Confirm your email address to see and open support requests. Requests are matched to verified addresses only." Shown on Support while the account is unconfirmed.
"Too many attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again." A rate limit on sign-in, registration, reset or link requests. It lifts by itself.
Still locked out of a purchase?
Open a request at gobuildwp.com/support/contact and choose "Cannot access a paid download or licence" under "What is this about?". The published target for that category is one business day, and the form works without any account. Give the purchase email, the rough purchase date and, if you can see it, the licence number shown after the # sign on Licences. That number identifies the licence without being the key, and it is all the desk needs to find the order. If you can sign in, Support > "Open a request" offers the same category and keeps the conversation in your account.
