Every module has an address in the tree, so the agent edits one module, applies a global preset or library item, sets display conditions and query loops, and changes Theme Builder assignments without rewriting the page.

A confirmed call carries confirm: true, which the agent sets itself by default; a person approves only when Confirmation mode is “A person approves” or a Pro approval policy holds the call.
Presets and Theme Builder
Divi 5 gives every module an address, which is what makes preset work safe
Divi 5 stores a page as divi/* blocks. divi-get-content turns them into a flat list in which every module has an address such as 0/1/0, so a call can target one button in one row without rewriting the section around it. Addresses of later siblings shift after a delete, so the agent re-reads the tree before its next edit.
Presets and Theme Builder templates are where one change reaches many pages. Editing a global preset restyles every module that carries it, and a template's use_on and exclude_from lists decide which URLs get its header, body and footer. The module reads both first: which preset a module uses, which preset is the default, and which conditions a template already has.
Guard rails on Divi writes
- Type-matched presets. A preset attaches only to modules of its own type; a text preset cannot land on a button.
- Lists replaced whole. Theme Builder conditions are replaced, not merged, so the agent reads the current list first.
- Deletes confirmed. Removing a module, preset, template, colour or variable needs explicit confirmation every time; built-in colours and font variables cannot be deleted.
- Canonical paths. divi-get-module-schema returns each field's attribute path, so writes use Divi's own shape.

Elegant Themes' Divi AI Agent works inside the Divi 5 builder with an Ask mode and a Build mode, and its product page does not describe an MCP server. DiviOps and Respira are MCP routes from other vendors. The four differ most on Divi 4, on where they run, and on what happens after a write.

Where the other route is stronger. The Divi AI Agent is built into the builder by Elegant Themes, with more than 190 purpose-built skills and layouts generated from a screenshot or a URL, which an external client does not give you. Respira edits Divi 4 shortcode pages as well as Divi 5, which GoBuildWP's module does not, and DiviOps has a free tier for unlimited sites.

What is Divi MCP?
Divi MCP gives an AI client typed access to Divi modules, global presets, library items, Theme Builder templates, loops and dynamic content. The MCP server itself is GoBuildWP Free running inside your WordPress install, and GoBuildWP Pro adds 47 typed Divi abilities.
Is there an official Divi MCP?
Elegant Themes' AI Agent page, read on 29 September 2026, describes an agent that works inside the Divi 5 Visual Builder and does not describe an MCP server. GoBuildWP's Divi module is a separate, self-hosted route for external clients such as Claude, Codex or Cursor.
Can it convert Divi 4 pages to Divi 5?
Not this module. GoBuildWP Pro's page builder converter reads Divi 4 shortcode pages and writes a new draft in Divi 5 or another builder, leaves the original untouched, and reports what did not carry over. Review that draft before it replaces anything.
Does it need Claude Code?
No. Any MCP client that can reach the site works, including Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor. Some Divi tools are built around Claude Code specifically; GoBuildWP runs inside WordPress, so the client is your choice.
Does it work with Divi 4?
No. The module is built for Divi 5 and requires 5.0 or newer. Divi 4 pages use shortcodes; GoBuildWP Pro's page builder converter can read them and write a new draft in Divi 5 or another builder, but this module does not edit Divi 4 layouts.
Can it edit Divi global presets safely?
It can read presets, apply them, edit them and set a default as typed operations. A preset edit propagates to every module using it, so treat it as a site-wide change: staging first, and Pro can hold it for approval.
Does it understand the Theme Builder?
Yes. Theme Builder templates, their header, body and footer layouts, and their conditions are separate objects, so the agent can review what applies where before proposing a change.

Limits
- Global presets, global colours and Theme Builder templates have a wide radius. Find every dependent surface before changing them.
- Display conditions change what visitors see without changing the module itself, so they need their own review.
- Addresses of later siblings shift after a delete. The agent re-reads the tree before the next edit.
- Divi generates its own CSS; confirm the rendered page rather than trusting the tool response.

WordPress 6.9+ and PHP 8.0+; the site becomes its own MCP endpoint.
Connect a client
OAuth 2.1 in the browser, or an Application Password where the client cannot sign in.
