Page builder converter
WordPress page builder converter. Move a page, and see what it costs first.
Read a page built in one WordPress page builder and write it into another as a new draft: Elementor to Gutenberg, Elementor to Bricks, WPBakery or Divi to Elementor. The original is never touched, and a per-element report names every loss before you agree to it.

Supported builders
One document model, not a hundred translators
Each builder has one reader into a neutral document model and one writer out of it, so every loss is decided in one place instead of quietly, differently, by each pair.
| Builder | Convert from | Convert to |
|---|---|---|
| Elementor | Classic, atomic and mixed documents | Atomic (v4) or classic (v3) |
| Block editor | Supported | Queued, finished in a wp-admin tab |
| Bricks | Supported | Supported |
| Divi 5 | Blocks | Supported |
| Divi 4 | Shortcodes | Not supported |
| WPBakery | Shortcodes, including raw HTML blocks | Supported |
| Beaver Builder | Supported | Supported |
| Oxygen | Supported | Supported |
| Breakdance | Supported | Supported |
| Etch | Supported | Supported |
| Flatsome UX Builder | Supported | Supported |
| Mosaic | Not supported | Not supported |
Divi 4 is read and deliberately not written: reading its shortcodes lets those sites leave, while writing them would convert somebody into a format on the way out. Mosaic stores templates in its own tables, so the converter reports it as not supported rather than guessing.
Fidelity
Nothing is lost quietly
Every element carries how it survived, and the model refuses to validate if an element is marked imperfect with no recorded reason. A conversion that would drop anything, or reduce more than a quarter of the page to markup, refuses until the call accepts that.
- Carried
The element exists on both sides and came across whole.
- Approximated
Carried, not exactly: five breakpoints folded into three, or a colour snapped to the nearest in your palette.
- Reduced to markup
No equivalent on the target, so the rendered HTML is kept. It renders, and it is not editable there.
- Not carried
Nothing survived: a form's submission wiring, a loop, or a widget whose plugin is inactive.
How a conversion runs
Preview first. Convert to a draft. Keep the way back.
Converting classic Elementor to its v4 atomic model uses the same machinery, and the free plugin reports how ready your site is first. See Elementor MCP.
List what this site can convert
A reader or writer is offered only where its builder is installed, so the pairs are a fact about your site.
Preview the loss report
Reads the source, plans the target and writes nothing. Every element that would not survive whole is named.
Convert to a new draft
Creates a draft in the target builder and leaves the source untouched. Refuses until you accept any loss the preview flagged.
Check it, or undo it
Open the draft in the target editor. The report stays attached to it, and the change ledger removes the draft in one call.
Planning a whole-site migration
Migrating a page builder across a whole site
The converter works one document at a time, which is the right unit for judging losses and the wrong unit for planning a migration. Before converting anything, get the whole picture: ask the agent to run list-convertible-documents, then convert-preview on every page that matters, and group the results by how much each page loses. Most sites split into three piles. Pages that come across almost whole can be converted and checked. Pages with a few approximations need a designer's pass after conversion. Pages that lean on forms, loops, dynamic bindings or display conditions are cheaper to rebuild by hand, because those are outside what the converter carries.
Run the previews on staging with both builders active and the source builder's add-ons switched on; a widget whose plugin is inactive reads as not carried, which overstates the loss.
Divi to Elementor and other common routes
- Divi to Elementor: Divi 4 shortcode pages and Divi 5 block pages can both be read, and Elementor can be written as classic or atomic. Divi 4 is never a target, so a Divi 4 site can leave but not arrive.
- Elementor to Gutenberg: the block editor target is queued and finished in a wp-admin tab, so the result is pending until that tab has run it. Plan for someone to have wp-admin open during a batch.
- WPBakery to anything: raw HTML blocks are read, but they stay raw HTML on the target. Expect the most reduced-to-markup items from older WPBakery pages built with add-on elements.
- Breakdance or Oxygen 6 to another builder: both share one reader, so the loss profile is similar for either.
- Anything to or from Mosaic: not supported; that move stays a manual rebuild.
Putting the converted draft live while protecting search traffic
A conversion creates a new draft with its own ID and URL; the original page is untouched and still live. Replacing one with the other is a separate decision, and it is where search traffic is most often lost if it is rushed. These steps reduce that risk; no migration can promise rankings stay where they were. Before swapping, compare SEO titles and descriptions on both posts; on Pro, seo-bulk-get-meta reads them from whichever SEO plugin is active and seo-bulk-update-meta can copy them across in one call of up to 100 posts. Then decide the URL: either move the old page aside and give the draft its slug, or publish the draft at a new URL with a 301 from the old one. redirects-status reports whether GoBuildWP's automatic slug-change redirects are on and which redirect store they write to; without a supported redirect plugin, WordPress's own old-slug fallback does not cover pages.
Keep the source pages as drafts or private until the converted versions have been live through a full crawl, so a rollback is a slug change rather than a rebuild.
A checklist for each converted draft
- Open the draft in the target builder's editor and save it once there; a page that will not open or save is not converted, whatever the report says.
- Read get-conversion-report against the draft and visit every item marked approximated or reduced to markup.
- Compare the draft and the source at phone, tablet and desktop widths. capture-page and compare-captures can score the difference if a wp-admin tab is open for captures.
- Rebuild forms, loops and conditional sections natively; the converter does not carry them.
- Check internal links and anchors, since section IDs from the old builder may not exist on the new page.
What to restyle after conversion
The source builder's stylesheet does not come with the page, so global styling has to exist on the target first. If the site has a saved GoBuildWP Design direction, brand-kit-apply on Pro writes its palette and type stack into the target builder's global colours and typography. That is a site-wide change, outside the new-draft guarantee: it restyles every page already using those globals, needs confirmation, and is best done on staging. Do it before converting: the converter's approximations snap colours to the nearest palette colour, so a palette that already exists on the target gives it the right colours to snap to. Without it, expect values that look close but drift from page to page.
FAQ
Before you convert a page
Does it change my existing page?
No. The conversion writes a new draft and leaves the source exactly as it was. A conversion is a judgement call with losses in it, and overwriting the page a business runs on, only to find out afterwards which widgets did not survive, is not a trade anybody would take if asked. The draft is recorded in the change ledger, so one call removes it again.
Can I convert Elementor to Gutenberg?
Yes. Elementor classic, atomic and mixed documents can be read, and the block editor is a supported target. Because a native block's markup is produced by the editor's own JavaScript, that target is queued and finished in a wp-admin tab rather than written directly, and the result says it is pending rather than claiming to be done.
Can I convert Elementor to Bricks?
Yes, as long as both builders are installed on the site doing the conversion. Run the preview first: structure, content and the palette and type it can recover come across, while anything Bricks has no equivalent for is reported as reduced to markup or not carried.
What gets lost?
Expect losses where the source has no supported target equivalent. Inspect each element's carried, approximated, reduced-to-markup or not-carried result and the grouped loss report. Forms, loops, dynamic bindings and display conditions are outside this conversion scope. A source-declared conversion pair still needs a save/reopen and browser fixture on the installed versions.
Will the converted page look the same?
Structure, content and the palette and type it can recover come across. The source builder's stylesheet does not load on the target, so expect to restyle. A conversion is a head start on a rebuild, not a copy.
Do I need both builders installed?
Yes, on the site doing the conversion. A reader is only offered where its builder is present, and writing a page for an editor the site does not have would produce something nothing can open. The first ability lists which pairs your install can actually perform.
Is the converter in GoBuildWP Free?
No. It ships in GoBuildWP Pro 1.12.4 as four abilities. Free includes the Elementor atomic readiness audit, which reports how much of a site is already atomic and which widgets block the rest before you convert classic Elementor to v4.
Preview one page before you commit to anything.
The preview writes nothing and reports everything. Convert on staging, open the draft in the target builder, and decide from what you can see.
