Fluent Forms MCP for forms, submissions and payment records

Through this Fluent Forms MCP integration an AI client can build forms field by field, adjust notifications and confirmations, triage submissions, and read the payment records Fluent Forms Pro keeps. Submission reads mask passwords, uploads, signatures, card values and the submitter IP. Every write goes to Fluent Forms' own fluentform tables, so the change log notes it without being able to roll it back.

On the Newsletter Signup form, move this week's spam submissions to trash and tell me whether the Mailchimp integration is still switched on.

  1. wppilot/fluentforms-list-formsRead

Finds the form and returns submissions_total and submissions_unread.

  2. wppilot/fluentforms-list-submissionsRead

Lists compact rows filtered to spam; the IP column is masked.

  3. wppilot/fluentforms-mark-submissionWrite

Sets status trashed on each spam row, the soft alternative to permanent deletion.

  4. wppilot/fluentforms-list-integrationsRead

Returns each feed with its enabled flag and a decoded body in which API keys, tokens and webhook URLs replaced by a REDACTED placeholder.

Abilities

Fluent Forms abilities by effect

Documented source abilities; live registration can be narrower. Edition and effect labels describe the source catalogue. The installed schema, dependency versions, licence, WordPress capability, safety profile and per-ability policy determine availability; labels alone do not prove confirmation or recovery.

Data model

Fluent Forms' tables and what lives in each

A form is one row in wp_fluentform_forms, and its fields are a JSON blob in that row's form_fields column. Notifications are separate rows in wp_fluentform_form_meta, one per notification, while the single confirmation lives inside the formSettings blob. That is why field edits must happen one after another, whereas notification and settings writes are safe side by side: settings and confirmation writes take a per-form lock, and each notification is its own row.

Submissions are rows in wp_fluentform_submissions. The answers are a JSON response map keyed by field name, and status is unread, read, spam or trashed. Save-and-resume drafts, transactions and subscriptions have tables of their own and exist only when Fluent Forms Pro provides them.

Deleting a field never rewrites history: past answers stay under the old name inside each submission's response.

Limits

Fluent Forms operations that need care

  • include_sensitive and confirm, where supported, are API prerequisites subject to capability and installed policy, not proof of human consent. Obtain approval for the specific data purpose separately. Permitted fields and exports go to the client/provider; key or pattern masking does not cover arbitrary names or free text. Skill instructions do not enforce a human act.
  • get-submission and export-submissions return password, file-upload, signature and card values and the IP as [REDACTED]; list-submissions masks only the IP. Unmasking needs include_sensitive and confirm, and is refused otherwise before a row loads.
  • delete-submission is permanent, with no trash bin. delete-form removes the form row, and with cascade it also erases every submission and its details.
  • Transactions and subscriptions are read-only apart from cancel-subscription, which acts on the payment record and cannot be restarted from a snapshot.
  • Fields cannot be renamed in place, since answers are keyed by name; remove and re-add instead. Unpublished forms render as empty output with no message.

Worked example

Clear a newsletter form's spam and check its Mailchimp feed

Expected outcome to verify on the installed stack; this sequence has not been recorded as a runtime test.

Spam leaves the inbox without being destroyed, and the user learns whether the Mailchimp feed is on without the agent ever seeing its API key. Trashing is logged but not reversible from GoBuildWP; restoring means marking those submissions again.

Select the requested spam period explicitly. If the installed list schema has no date filter, filter recorded timestamps before proposing exact entry IDs for mutation. Check whether a subscription cancellation invokes a loaded gateway handler or changes only a local record; confirm the gateway outcome separately.

Other plugins

Fluent Forms beside other plugins

  • Marketing and webhook feeds such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Zapier and Google Sheets are read through list-integrations with secrets masked; creating or editing a feed is not an ability.
  • Fluent Forms' Compliance Settings can delete entry data immediately after a submission. A form set that way has nothing for list-submissions to return, which is expected, not a fault.
  • get-form-canonical maps a Fluent form to a plugin-neutral model for moving to or from Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms or Formidable; submissions are never part of that migration.

Fluent Forms jobs owners ask for

Closing a Fluent Forms registration form on time

Event and course sites ask the same thing every season: open registration on a date, stop it at a number of places or on a closing day, and show a sensible message afterwards. In Fluent Forms those rules sit under restrictions in the formSettings blob, with scheduling under restrictions.scheduleForm and login gating under restrictions.requireLogin. The agent reads them with fluentforms-get-form-settings, then patches only the restrictions key with fluentforms-edit-form-settings, which shallow-merges and reports any key it dropped.

Read the restrictions object in full before writing, because the merge works at the top level: sending a restrictions object replaces the stored one, so a new submission limit sent alone could clear the schedule that was already there. Then load the form as a visitor once the window has closed, or on staging with the dates moved, to see the message Fluent Forms shows. An unpublished form, by contrast, renders nothing at all, which is why switching status is the wrong way to close registrations.

Routing notifications by what the visitor chose

A contact form that should email sales for quotes and support for problems needs one notification per destination, each with its own conditionals. fluentforms-list-notifications shows every notification with its recipient summary and whether it has conditionals, and include conditionals returns the rules themselves. fluentforms-create-notification adds a new one with sendTo, subject, message and conditionals, and sendTo can be a plain address or a merge tag that takes the address from a field.

Each notification is its own row, so adding the support route cannot disturb the sales one, and notification ids never renumber when one is removed. Test every branch: submit once choosing quote and once choosing problem, and check both mailboxes. A condition that names a field by the wrong key silently never matches, so the symptom is an email that never arrives rather than an error.

Learning from abandoned save-and-resume drafts

On long forms with Fluent Forms Pro's save-and-resume enabled, abandoned drafts say where people give up. fluentforms-list-draft-submissions filters by form and by used, where false means the visitor never came back to submit, and each row includes the step reached, the source page and the device. Counting abandoned drafts by step_completed points at the page of a multi-step form that loses people. Drafts can hold personal answers, so keep that analysis to counts, and remember deleting a draft breaks the visitor's resume link for good.

Questions

Fluent Forms questions

Can an AI read Fluent Forms payment data?

Transactions and subscriptions captured by Fluent Forms Pro can be listed and read, without billing addresses or payment notes in the compact rows. The one write is cancelling a subscription, which cannot be undone from the change log.

Why did the agent refuse to rename a Fluent Forms field?

Answers are stored under the field's name, so a rename would leave every past submission pointing at a name the form no longer has. edit-field does not allow it.

Are save-and-resume drafts included?

They are listed separately by list-draft-submissions, including whether the visitor came back and submitted. Deleting a draft is permanent.
