Oxygen 6.2's Agent Connector and where GoBuildWP fits

Oxygen's announcement of 6.2, read on 3 October 2026, describes release candidate 1 dated 30 September with an Agent Connector set up under Oxygen, Settings, Agents & MCP. It lists Claude, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline and Gemini CLI among compatible clients and says agents can build pages, templates, headers, footers and components, and work with selectors, CSS variables, dynamic data, interactions, animations, forms and site settings. The same release adds per-breakpoint values for variables. The announcement does not state edition requirements.

On Oxygen-only work, the vendor's connector is the natural first test: it covers interactions and animations, which GoBuildWP's module does not address, and it will track Oxygen's own changes first. GoBuildWP's module was built for Oxygen 6 and has not been checked against the 6.2 release candidate, including per-breakpoint variable values. Choose GoBuildWP when the same agent also has to work on WooCommerce, forms, SEO or another builder, when destructive Oxygen writes should need explicit confirmation, which a person gives once Confirmation mode is set to "A person approves", or when you want the change ledger across the whole site.

Loops and dynamic data, done the way Oxygen renders them

Two Oxygen details trip up generic agents. Dynamic data has to sit inside the control's value as Oxygen's dynamic shortcode; a sibling metadata key looks plausible and is ignored by the renderer. oxygen-apply-dynamic-data writes the binding at the control path and validates the field slug on the server, so read the available fields with oxygen-list-dynamic-data-fields first.

Loops have three native types (a posts loop, a taxonomy-term loop and a dynamic-data loop over a repeater field), each with its own inputs, and oxygen-set-loop rejects inputs that belong to a different type instead of ignoring them. The repeated item is not a child of the loop element: it lives in a separate Oxygen block, so the agent builds that block first with oxygen-create-template and oxygen-set-content, then points the loop at it. A useful prompt: "Set the loop on the related-posts section to the four newest posts in the same category, show me the query you will write, then apply it."

Coming from Oxygen Classic

Oxygen 6 is a different storage format from Oxygen Classic, and GoBuildWP only supports Oxygen 6. oxygen-check-setup flags the Classic Gutenberg and WooCommerce companion plugins if they are still installed, because they do not work on Oxygen 6. GoBuildWP's page builder converter reads and writes Oxygen 6 pages, not Classic ones, so it can help after a site is on Oxygen 6, for example converting a Gutenberg or Elementor page into an Oxygen 6 draft, but it cannot carry Classic pages across.
