How it works
Cloud passes the call on. The site decides.

Set it up in three steps
Create your Cloud account
Sign up at app.gobuildwp.com. Connect up to 3 sites, use permitted single-site tools and view update and backup status for free. Starting updates and backups from Cloud, safety policies, SEO reports and bulk actions require a Pro entitlement.
Connect each site from wp-admin
Install GoBuildWP Free 1.17 or newer, open GoBuildWP, then Connect, then GoBuildWP Cloud, and sign in. Choose Read Only or Production Safe for that site. The site creates a key and sends it to Cloud server to server; you never copy it.
Add one link to your AI app
Paste the Cloud MCP link into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another app and sign in once. Then pick which of your sites that app may reach, and whether it may only read.

Cloud's setup for Cline, your own scripts, CI jobs uses a personal access token instead of a browser sign-in. Each token is scoped to the sites you pick, expires, and can be revoked.
Look after your sites
Updates, backups and safety settings for every site
Sites running GoBuildWP Free 1.18.0 or newer report what they need to your Cloud account. You see it without opening each wp-admin, and with Pro you act on it from there. The site still runs every change under its own safety profile.
Updates
See pending plugin, theme and core updates by site or by plugin. With a Pro entitlement, confirm selected plugin and theme updates and review each site's backup and update mode. Eligible sites with Pro can check selected URLs and attempt file recovery on detected failures; WordPress core is read-only here.
Backups
The newest UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, Duplicator or All-in-One WP Migration backup on each site, so a site whose backups stopped stands out. With Pro, start a backup from Cloud. The archives stay wherever the backup plugin sends them; Cloud never stores them.
Safety policies
One safety profile, approval mode and list of switched-off abilities, pushed to many sites (Pro). A site applies it only after its owner opts in from wp-admin, to tighten or also to loosen, and never to Developer Full Access.
Team and clients
Invite admins and members to run the sites with you, and clients who see only their own sites: status, pending updates and last backup, read-only. Invites go to one email address and expire if nobody accepts.
SEO report
Search Console for every site on one page (Pro): clicks and position, pages losing clicks, pages seen but not clicked, and queries ranking 5 to 20. Each site reads its own Google Site Kit, so Cloud never holds a Google login.

Cloud implements event subscriptions for site and run changes. Acting on an event also requires a compatible client subscription, an authorized automation and working delivery. Verify receipt and the permitted action before relying on an unattended workflow.

Safety and privacy
What Cloud can and cannot see
Calls pass through the gateway on their way to the site. Cloud keeps what it needs to route them and to show you what happened.
Cloud stores
- Your account email address and a hashed password.
- For each connected site: its URL, name, GoBuildWP versions and health.
- The key each site created for Cloud, stored encrypted.
- The AI apps you connected, the sites each may reach, and your personal access tokens, stored hashed.
- A log of gateway calls: the tool name, the site, the outcome, the time and any error message. Kept 90 days.
- Bulk runs (Pro), including updates, backups and safety-policy pushes started from Cloud: what ran, its arguments and each site's result. Kept 30 days after the run finishes.
- What each site last reported, from GoBuildWP Free 1.18.0: its pending core, plugin and theme updates with their versions; which backup plugins are active, the time and plugin of its newest successful backup, and whether one is running; and its safety settings, whether its owner lets Cloud manage them, and the Cloud policy it last applied. Each report replaces the last, and a site's last report stays with its record, even after you disconnect it, until your account is deleted.
- Safety policies you save (Pro): their names and settings and the sites each is assigned to, until you delete them.
- The people in your workspace with their roles and, for clients, the sites they may see; and invites: the invited email address, role, chosen sites and expiry date. Invites stay listed with the workspace after they expire, are withdrawn or are accepted, until your account is deleted.
- The SEO report (Pro): for each site, Search Console totals for the last 28 days and its top pages and queries with clicks, impressions, click rate and position, as the site's Google Site Kit returned them. Replaced at each refresh, about once a day, and kept with the site's record until your account is deleted.
- Sign-in sessions (browser name and a hashed IP address), and the callback address of any ChatGPT automation you set up, until it expires or you remove it.
Cloud does not store
- Ordinary gateway tool payloads are not retained as page, post or product records; bulk results and SEO page/query reports are exceptions described above
- WordPress passwords
- Backup archives, download links or backup storage credentials
- Google sign-ins or tokens: the SEO report is read through each site's own Site Kit
- WordPress Chat usage: the token counts stay on the WordPress site
The site stays the final authority
- Each site's safety profile, confirmations, change ledger and undo still apply
- Cloud never exceeds the access the site granted
- Disconnect from either side and the site's key stops working

Questions about GoBuildWP Cloud

Do I need GoBuildWP Cloud to use GoBuildWP?
No. Cloud is optional. The free plugin still makes each site its own MCP server, and an AI app can connect to that site directly, with no relay and no GoBuildWP account. Cloud is for when you want one link for several sites instead of one connection per site.
What does Cloud cost?
Connect up to 3 sites, use permitted single-site tools and view update and backup status for free. Starting updates and backups from Cloud, safety policies, SEO reports and bulk actions require a Pro entitlement. Single Site keeps the 3-site Cloud allowance; 10 Sites, 100 Sites and Unlimited Sites raise it. Sites allowed: 3 on Single Site, 10 on the 10 Sites plan, 100 on the 100 Sites plan and unlimited on Unlimited Sites. Cloud Pro is included with the licence; there is no separate Cloud price.
How does Cloud know I have Pro?
A Pro licence bought with the same email as your Cloud account is linked automatically. If you bought Pro with a different email, prove you own that email from your Cloud account and the licence is linked.
Can Cloud do more on my site than the site allows?
No. Each call still runs on the site, under that site's safety profile, confirmations and change ledger, and undo works the same way. Cloud uses the access the site granted when you connected it, Read Only or Production Safe, and can never go beyond it. A connection you made read-only in Cloud stays read-only even if the site would allow more.
What does Cloud keep about my sites?
Your account email and a hashed password, each site's URL, name, versions and health, the site keys encrypted, your AI app connections, and a log of gateway calls with the tool name, site, outcome and time. Retention jobs target 90 days for gateway logs and 30 days for completed bulk-run results. Cloud also retains the site status, workspace records and SEO reports described in the privacy notice. Ordinary gateway payloads are not retained as page records; bulk results and SEO page/query data are exceptions. Worker operation is required for scheduled deletion.
How do I disconnect a site?
From either side. Disconnect the site in your Cloud account, or in wp-admin under GoBuildWP, Connect. Either way the site's key stops working, and Cloud can no longer reach that site.
Can my clients see their own sites in Cloud?
Yes, on the 10 Sites plan and above, where clients do not take a seat. Invite a client by email and pick the sites they may see. They get the status, pending updates and last backup of those sites, read-only, with no update or backup buttons and no access to anything else in your workspace.
Is GoBuildWP in the ChatGPT plugin directory?
A directory listing is not established by this website. Where your ChatGPT account supports custom MCP connections, add the Cloud MCP URL with OAuth and verify one allowed read. Setup labels and availability depend on the client and account; the direct ChatGPT guide explains the connection requirements.
