GoBuildWP Pro · 33 Breakdance abilities
Breakdance MCP that treats every write as destructive. Built from the element schemas on your install.
GoBuildWP's Breakdance MCP gives an AI client 33 typed Breakdance abilities in GoBuildWP Pro. It lists the element types registered on your install, reads each one's control schema, then adds, edits or moves elements and manages templates, global classes, variables and global styles. All 17 write abilities are marked destructive, so every Breakdance write needs an explicit confirmation. By default the agent supplies it; set Confirmation mode to "A person approves" when a person should approve each call.
Pro from $39/year, Breakdance 2.7+, Setup guide
Proposed sequence using source-declared abilities in GoBuildWP Pro 1.12.4. Site, IDs, changes and outcomes are illustrative; no live client, native-editor or restore test is recorded here. Confirm the installed schema and policy separately. A confirmed call carries confirm: true, which the agent sets itself by default; a person approves only when Confirmation mode is “A person approves” or a Pro approval policy holds the call.
Schema first
Breakdance abilities that read the schema before writing
Type slugs are case-sensitive and control paths differ per element, so the agent asks this install for both instead of trusting a remembered list.

breakdance-list-element-typesLists the element types this install registers, core, Pro and add-ons, with the exact case-sensitive slug add-element expects.
breakdance-get-element-schemaProgressive disclosure of content, design and settings paths, each with its type and allowed values.
breakdance-get-element-treeA depth-limited summary of any Breakdance canvas, with a node cap so a huge page cannot flood the context.
breakdance-set-template-conditionsWrites rule groups for templates, headers, footers, popups and global blocks: OR-groups of AND-rules.
breakdance-edit-global-settingsPatches one Global Styles category at a time; categories you do not pass are preserved.
breakdance-check-setupReports version, licence mode and Breakdance's own AI capability signals before anything else runs.
Breakdance and Oxygen 6
One engine, two modules, and Breakdance's own AI left alone.
Breakdance and Oxygen 6 share Soflyy's engine, and they cannot run on the same site. GoBuildWP ships a module for each and loads only the one that matches the running plugin, so an agent never mixes the two vocabularies.
breakdance-check-setup reports Breakdance's own AI capability and runtime signals separately from GoBuildWP's. GoBuildWP does not replace features inside the Breakdance editor; it gives an external client such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex typed access to the same element tree, under your site's policy.
Guard rails on Breakdance writes
- Every write confirmed. All 17 write abilities are marked destructive in the plugin source, so none runs without confirm: true, or a person's approval when the site requires one.
- Code blocks gated. A raw CodeBlock element is rejected unless the repeated call sets allow_code_elements. The agent is instructed to ask you first; the server checks only the flag.
- Templates trash first. Deleting a template sends it to the WordPress trash by default; only force is permanent.
- Submissions have no trash. Deleting a form submission is permanent, so keep that work read-only.

Breakdance jobs
Breakdance jobs built from real element schemas
Compose from the real element schema
The agent reads the schema for an element type before it builds, so it uses control paths and values this install registers. Open the result in Breakdance to check how it renders.
Example prompt: Show me the element schema for the Breakdance heading, then add a matching section under the hero.
Reorder without re-creating
Move an element inside the tree instead of deleting and rebuilding it, keeping its settings and styling.
Example prompt: Move the testimonial element above the pricing table without changing its settings.
Review template assignments
List templates and their conditions before changing a global one, so you know the blast radius first.
Example prompt: List every template and its conditions, and tell me which ones apply to the shop archive.
Triage form submissions
Read submissions to answer a question, with deletion kept behind an explicit, permanent-action confirmation.
Example prompt: Summarise last week's contact form submissions by topic. Do not delete anything.
Requirements
Breakdance 2.7, Oxygen 6 and what the module leaves alone
Requirements
- WordPress
- 6.9 or newer, PHP 8.0 or newer.
- Breakdance
- 2.7 or newer. Oxygen 6 sites use the Oxygen module instead.
- Code elements
- Raw code blocks are rejected unless the call opts in with allow_code_elements.
- GoBuildWP
- Free plugin plus a Pro licence for the 33 Breakdance abilities.
- Current versions
- GoBuildWP Free 1.18.6 and Pro 1.12.4.
Limits
- Form submissions can contain personal data. Keep that work read-focused; deletion is permanent and needs confirmation.
- Global settings and template conditions apply site-wide and deserve staging plus approval.
- Rendered output still depends on theme CSS and responsive rules, so visual review in Breakdance remains necessary.

Breakdance 3.0, design tokens and conditions
Breakdance 3.0 ships its own Agent Connector
Soflyy's announcement of Breakdance 3.0, read on 3 October 2026, describes release candidate 1 dated 1 October with an Agent Connector set up under Breakdance, Settings, Agents & MCP. It says agents such as Claude, Codex and Cursor can build pages, templates, headers, footers, forms and WooCommerce templates, and that the agent writes HTML and CSS which Breakdance converts into native elements, with classes becoming global selectors and responsive styles mapped to its breakpoints. It does not state which editions include it.
That is a different approach from GoBuildWP's. The first-party connector converts markup the agent writes; GoBuildWP's module has the agent read the element schemas registered on your install and write the element tree directly. The vendor route is likely to know Breakdance 3.0's new selectors system first, and GoBuildWP's module has not been checked against the release candidate. GoBuildWP's case is the rest of the site through one connection, confirmation on every Breakdance write and the change ledger. breakdance-check-setup reports separately whether Breakdance's native AI surface is loaded, so you can see on a given site whether both routes are present.
Variables and global classes before page work
A Breakdance site that hard-codes hex values and pixel sizes in each element is hard for anyone to restyle, an agent included. The module covers the design-system layer: breakdance-list-variables and breakdance-create-variable for colour, size and typography variables with their CSS variable names, and breakdance-list-global-classes and breakdance-create-global-class for reusable CSS-safe classes. Ask the agent to settle those first, then build sections that reference them.
Global settings need more care. breakdance-edit-global-settings replaces a whole category such as typography or colors with what you pass; it does not deep-merge. Have the agent read the category with breakdance-get-global-settings, change the one value, and send the complete category back, or a single font change can wipe the rest of the typography settings.
Dynamic data and template conditions
breakdance-list-dynamic-data-fields lists every source Breakdance can resolve at render time, including post fields, site info, the current user and ACF, Meta Box or JetEngine fields where those plugins are active, each with its return type and whether it needs Breakdance Pro. Read a field's controls with breakdance-get-dynamic-data-field before binding it, so an image control gets an image URL source rather than a string.
breakdance-set-template-conditions replaces a template's whole rule list: groups combined with OR, each holding rules combined with AND. Pass the complete list every time. A prompt such as "add the shop archive to this header's conditions" should become read, append, write, and the agent should show you the full list before it confirms the write.
FAQ
Breakdance MCP questions about confirmations
Other builders: Elementor, Bricks, Divi, Oxygen, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Flatsome, Etch, Mosaic.
What is Breakdance MCP?
Breakdance MCP lets an AI client read Breakdance element trees and type schemas, then compose or patch sections, templates and global styles safely. The MCP server itself is GoBuildWP Free running inside your WordPress install, and GoBuildWP Pro adds 33 typed Breakdance abilities.
Why does every Breakdance write need confirmation?
Every write ability in the module is marked destructive in the plugin source, from adding an element to editing global settings, so each call must carry an explicit confirmation. In the default Confirmation mode the agent sends confirm: true itself, so no person is asked. Set Confirmation mode to "A person approves" and a person must approve each exact call, in the MCP client or on a one-time wp-admin link; Pro's approval queue can also hold writes. Reads need no confirmation.
Can it build a Breakdance page from scratch?
Yes. It can write a whole element tree in one call, composed from the element types and schemas registered on your install, and create the templates and global classes the page depends on. Reading the schemas first keeps types and control paths to ones the install accepts; open the page in the Breakdance editor and on the front end before relying on it.
Does it touch form submission data?
It can list and read submissions, and delete one as a separate destructive operation. Breakdance submissions have no trash, so deletion is permanent. Keep that workflow read-only unless you have a specific reason.
What happens if Breakdance is not installed?
The module does not load. GoBuildWP Pro loads integration modules in isolation, so an absent plugin cannot break the rest of the registry.
Approve your first Breakdance write on a draft.
Read an element tree and one element schema in Read Only, then, with "A person approves" selected, add a single element and approve the call yourself.
