Easy MCP AI alternative
Easy MCP AI vs GoBuildWP: free SEO and store tools, or builder edits you can undo.
Easy MCP AI vs GoBuildWP compares two self-hosted WordPress plugins with OAuth 2.1. Easy MCP AI documents free WooCommerce, SEO and block tools, plus Change History restoration. GoBuildWP Free includes complete Elementor tree writing and operation-specific ledger recovery; Pro adds higher-level composition and deeper plugin workflows. Review permissions and recovery for the exact operation you need.

Where the two free plugins overlap and where they split
Easy MCP AI's strongest rows lead the table: SEO, the store and blocks. Its column comes from the WordPress.org readme and the integrations page. The readme gives its tool total three different ways, so the rows describe what each plugin does.
- Yes
- Partly

| Feature | Easy MCP AI | GoBuildWP |
|---|---|---|
| SEO plugins | Yes: Free: Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, AIOSEO, Slim SEO and TSF, plus GA4, Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs and more.2 | Yes: Free sets one post's title, description and robots in Rank Math, Yoast, SEOPress, AIOSEO, Slim SEO, The SEO Framework and SmartCrawl. Pro edits the rest, with bulk meta for up to 100 posts per call. Redirection and Site Kit are read, not written. |
| WooCommerce | Yes: Free: products, variations, orders, customers, coupons and sales reports.1 | Yes: Free reads products, orders and customers and edits one product at a time, 13 abilities in all. Pro adds 52 covering refunds, sales reports, HPOS stores and FunnelKit funnel steps. |
| Block editor | Yes: Blocks, patterns, block templates and global styles; reads and patches blocks in a post.1 | Yes: Free now edits Global Styles, templates, template parts, patterns and navigation menus through WordPress's REST controllers, each write undoable; core blocks inside posts are finished in a browser session. Pro covers GenerateBlocks, Spectra and Kadence Blocks. |
| OAuth 2.1 sign-in | Yes: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, Dynamic Client Registration and refresh-token rotation with reuse detection. Checked 8 October 2026.1 | Yes: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, CIMD before DCR, and a revoke button for each client app. |
| Scoped, expiring credentials | Partly: Per-token tool selection and read-only permissions documented. Exact expiry behavior needs the installed schema; not tested here.1 | Yes: Tokens expire, are limited to chosen abilities or categories, and can never rise above the safety profile they were issued under. |
| Safety profiles and read-only | Yes: Per-connection tool permissions, including read-only, and an optional API-token IP allowlist. Checked 8 October 2026.1 | Yes: Read Only, Production Safe and Developer Full Access, with a switch for each ability. |
| Rate limits | Yes: 60 requests a minute per token by default.1 | Yes: Rate limits apply to writes, counted per credential. |
| Multisite and many sites | Yes: Each subsite has its own endpoint, tokens and logs.1 | Yes: On a multisite network, one site can run an ability on another, which applies the target site's profile and logs it there. |
| Updates and backups across sites | Not documented: Not documented by Easy MCP AI. | Yes: GoBuildWP Cloud lists pending updates and backup status, free for 3 connected sites. Pro adds reviewed bulk plugin/theme updates with per-site backup options. Eligible guarded updates compare selected checks and attempt file recovery on failure; recovery can fail and does not restore database changes. |
| Transport | Yes: Streamable HTTP; stdio-only clients can use a local mcp-remote bridge. Checked 8 October 2026.1 | Yes: Streamable HTTP on modern 2026-07-28 and legacy 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2024-11-05. MCP Tasks is available on the modern transport since Free 1.15.0; background execution requires a job-backed ability. Local clients can also use stdio through WP-CLI on the site's machine. |
| Change log | Yes: Audit log including refused calls (30-day default) and a Change History with before and after.1 | Yes: Each write is logged, redacted, against the agent credential that made it; 90 days kept, exportable as CSV or JSON. |
| Undo one change | Partly: Version 2.1.0 documents restoration from Change History. Operation coverage, conflicts and post-restore verification were not independently tested. Checked 8 October 2026.1 | Yes: Supported recorded writes can be restored from retained ledger snapshots, with restore comparison. Irreversible actions and expired snapshots are excluded. |
| Writes made through other MCP servers | Not documented: Not documented by Easy MCP AI. | Yes: Free records writes made through Elementor's and WooCommerce's own MCP servers, and EDD's and TranslatePress's abilities, with undo where they can be put back. On WordPress 7.1 an off-by-default setting also holds them to the safety profile and a person's approval. |
| Preview before a write | Partly: Force Draft on Create, off by default.1 | Yes: Optional previews cover supported write projectors and can show Apply in compatible MCP Apps clients. Required preview is opt-in and exempts Chat and unsupported operations. Pro proposes content fixes before selected application. |
| Who confirms a destructive call | Not documented: Not documented by Easy MCP AI; control is by tool selection and WordPress capabilities.1 | Yes: Confirmation-gated calls use the model flag by default. In person-approves mode they need a human decision through supported client elicitation or a wp-admin link. Ordinary writes need a per-ability rule or Pro approval policy to wait too. |
| Approval queue | Not documented: Per-tool permissions are documented; a separate human approval queue was not established by this review.1 | Yes: In Pro, writes can be held for a human, chosen per credential or ability, who is told by email; bad input is refused rather than queued. |
| Elementor | Not documented: Not documented by Easy MCP AI.1 | Yes: Yes, where Easy MCP AI is silent: 18 free abilities reach v3 widgets and v4 atomic elements, and Pro brings 52 more. |
| Builder quality audit and repair | Not documented: Not documented by Easy MCP AI. | Yes: Free scores how editable an Elementor page is, 0 to 100, with a fix per finding (layout in HTML widgets, scripts, shortcodes, fixed colours, deep nesting). Pro turns simple HTML-widget markup into native widgets, dry run first, with undo. |
| Other page builders | Not documented: No builder beyond Gutenberg and block themes is documented by Easy MCP AI.1 | Yes: Pro adds Divi 5, Bricks, Breakdance, Oxygen, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, Mosaic, Etch and Flatsome. |
| Scheduled tasks | Partly: Schedules posts and runs cron events; no agent task scheduler.1 | Yes: Free repeats its accessibility, content and alt-text audits on a daily or weekly schedule, no agent needed, and emails what changed. It schedules read-only audits, nothing else. |
| Price and usage caps | Free, no Pro plan found and no vendor quota. SEO data providers bill separately.1 | Free, with no per-call charges; write rate limits still apply. Pro is $39–$99.99 a year, or $59.99–$199.99 once. |

Where Easy MCP AI leads
What Easy MCP AI gives away that GoBuildWP charges for or lacks
These come from Easy MCP AI's WordPress.org readme and integrations page, read on 29 September 2026. Several are things GoBuildWP keeps in Pro or does not do at all.
SEO plugins plus SEO data, at no cost
The free plugin reaches Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, AIOSEO, Slim SEO and TSF, and pulls data from GA4, Search Console, Semrush and Ahrefs. GoBuildWP Free writes only a post's title, description and robots, the rest is Pro, and it has no Semrush or Ahrefs connection.
A store toolkit in the free plugin
Products, variations, orders, customers, coupons and sales reports come free. GoBuildWP Free reads the store and edits one product at a time; coupons, reports and batch edits need Pro.
Blocks patched in place
Easy MCP AI reads and patches individual blocks in a post, and handles patterns, block templates and global styles. GoBuildWP Free now covers templates, patterns and Global Styles as well, but still hands core block writes in a post to a browser session to finish.
Control the connection's permissions
The current listing documents per-connection tool selection, read-only permissions and an optional IP allowlist for API tokens. Inspect the installed configuration before giving a client write access.
A public install base
Easy MCP AI shows 10,000+ active installs on WordPress.org. GoBuildWP is not listed there and publishes no install count.
Where GoBuildWP leads Easy MCP AI
Where GoBuildWP goes further than a free block-and-SEO server
Compare the operation you need, including both products' recovery boundaries. Easy MCP AI's restoration changelog was rechecked on 8 October 2026; neither product was run through a matched recovery test for this article.
Elementor in the free edition
Classic widgets and atomic elements are editable through 18 free abilities. Easy MCP AI documents the block editor and block themes but no other page builder.
Compare recovery per operation
Easy MCP AI 2.1.0 documents restoration from Change History. GoBuildWP restores supported recorded writes and compares retained before-images with the restored fields. Check coverage, conflicts and external effects in each product; documented restoration does not establish identical recovery.
Other MCP servers in the same change log
Elementor and WooCommerce now ship MCP servers of their own. GoBuildWP Free records the writes made through them, with undo where they can be put back, and on WordPress 7.1 can hold them to the site's safety profile and a person's approval.
A person in the loop for deletes
GoBuildWP's configured approval policy can hold destructive calls for human review. Easy MCP AI documents per-tool permissions; this review did not establish a separate approval queue. Missing documentation is not proof that a control does not exist.
A profile between read-only and everything
Both have a read-only preset. Production Safe sits between Read Only and full access, and a GoBuildWP token is capped by the profile it was issued under.
The rest of the stack, when you need it
Pro adds Bricks, Divi 5 and other builders, the main form plugins, WPML, Polylang, Weglot and TranslatePress strings, 26 cache layers, backup checks and selected-page update probes and attempted previous-file recovery, with file-restore failures and database or external effects handled separately.
Pricing and hosting model
Two free cores; one sells a Pro edition
Easy MCP AI
Easy MCP AI is free and we found no Pro plan or vendor quota. Its default limit is 60 requests a minute per token. Connected SEO data providers such as Semrush, Ahrefs, DataForSEO and Google bill you directly. It runs in pure PHP on your site with no proxy.
GoBuildWP
GoBuildWP Free is free too, with no per-call metering charge; per-credential write rate limits still apply. It runs on your site, reached directly or through the optional GoBuildWP Cloud gateway. Pro, which carries full WooCommerce, SEO and form work, extra builders, translation plugins and caches, is $39–$99.99 a year, or $59.99–$199.99 once.
A test you can repeat on staging
Three checks for two free WordPress MCP plugins
Patch a block, then take it back
On authorised staging, save the original paragraph and ask each plugin to reword it. Test Easy MCP AI's documented Change History restoration and GoBuildWP's supported ledger restore. Compare saved content and the rendered page, record conflicts or unsupported fields, and keep the versions with the result.
A token that must not delete
Issue a read-only token in Easy MCP AI and a Read Only token in GoBuildWP (or one scoped to abilities that exclude delete-post). Production Safe is not the right control here: it still allows a delete once the confirm flag is sent. Ask each agent to delete a draft, then read the refusal and check the draft still exists.
Hit the limit on purpose
On disposable staging, use only harmless disposable operations for the documented quota test, record the exact request count and clean up created test data. Easy MCP AI documents 60 a minute per token; note what each plugin returns when a limit is reached and what it logs.
Who should pick which
Block-theme SEO work or builder sites with review
Choose GoBuildWP when
- Your client sites are built in Elementor, or in Bricks, Divi 5 or another builder through Pro.
- Deletes and other destructive calls need a named person's yes.
- Rollbacks must be checkable, whether one change or a day of agent work.
Easy MCP AI is a good fit when
- Block themes, SEO plugins and WooCommerce cover your work, and you want them free.
- GA4, Search Console, Semrush or Ahrefs data should sit in the same connection.
- You need a device login, white labelling, an IP allowlist or settings locked in wp-config.
FAQ
Choosing between Easy MCP AI and GoBuildWP
Does Easy MCP AI cost anything?
Not the plugin. Its WordPress.org readme on 29 September 2026 said every tool is included, and we found no paid plan. If you connect Semrush, Ahrefs, DataForSEO or Google APIs, those providers bill you themselves.
Will Easy MCP AI edit my Elementor pages?
Its readme and integrations page cover the block editor (Gutenberg) and block themes, and name no page builder beyond them. On an Elementor site that gap decides the comparison; on a block-theme site it may not matter.
How should I compare access controls?
Easy MCP AI documents OAuth 2.1, per-connection tool permissions and an API-token IP allowlist. GoBuildWP adds a safety-profile ceiling and configured human approval routes. Check the installed permissions, token lifetime and delete behavior on each product; a shared protocol does not establish identical controls.
Can both run on one site while I decide?
Their endpoints are separate, but coexistence on your installed builds needs a staging test. Use distinct credentials, verify the required tasks and retained records, then retire a route only after that review.
