Spectra MCP for popups, block activation and Google Fonts delivery
Spectra MCP work through GoBuildWP is mostly about the parts of Spectra that are not block markup: the Popup Builder post type, its enabled flag and Pro display rules, the per-block activation registry, editor defaults and how Google Fonts are delivered. Page composition still runs through the Gutenberg review queue. The riskiest single action is enabling a popup on a site without Spectra Pro, because it then shows on every page.
Duplicate our spring popup as a newsletter signup, show it only on blog posts after 10 seconds, and leave it disabled until I check it.
wppilot/spectra-check-setupReadConfirms Spectra meets the floor and whether Pro is active; without Pro there are no display rules and the plan stops here.
wppilot/spectra-duplicate-popupWriteDeep-copies the spring popup's content, type, repetition and Pro meta into a new draft titled with a (Copy) suffix.
wppilot/spectra-edit-popupConfirm firstRenames the copy and swaps its content; the post cache is flushed so the next read is current.
wppilot/spectra-disable-popupWriteSwitches the copy off explicitly, because duplicating does not by itself establish that the new popup is disabled.
wppilot/spectra-get-popupReadRereads the copy and confirms its enabled flag is off before any display rule is written.

Limits
Where Spectra changes bite
- Deleting a popup is permanent: Spectra forces deletion with no trash, the ability needs confirm set to true, and the ledger records it as irreversible.
- Disabling a block in the registry hides it from the inserter and strips its Spectra CSS and JS, but existing copies in post_content still render as raw HTML.
- Pro condition writes are validated before the first row is written, yet they are not a transaction; a storage failure part-way reports the rows already saved.
- Settings writes are whitelist-only, and reCAPTCHA secret keys are never returned, only whether each one is set.
- Most static Spectra blocks define their attributes in JavaScript, so the schema ability returns an empty attribute map for them; dynamic blocks such as forms and post grids return the full map.

Data model
Options rows, a popup post type, and email-only forms
Spectra, formerly Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg, keeps its editor toggles and container defaults in individual uag_ options, and the on or off state of every block in one JSON value in the _uagb_blocks option. Google Fonts are declared in three places, the global font setting, the global block-style presets and the full-site-editing font list, and the listing ability merges all three and reports which each family came from. Popups are spectra-popup posts whose block tree is ordinary post_content, with the popup type, enabled state and repetition in post meta; Spectra Pro adds trigger and inclusion and exclusion meta on the same posts.
Forms are the surprise. The uagb/forms block sends each submission by email and stores nothing: no table, no post type, no meta. An agent asked for past entries can only point you at the inbox or a mail-logging plugin. The WordPress.org listing now calls the plugin Spectra Legacy and says it receives security and compatibility fixes but no new features.
Worked example
A newsletter popup scoped to the blog
Expected outcome to verify on the installed stack; this sequence has not been recorded as a runtime test.
A disabled, correctly scoped popup waits for review, and spectra-enable-popup turns it on. Each write here has a post-level undo. An empty inclusion rule would silently match no page, so the agent confirms the scope before writing it.
Reread the duplicated popup’s enabled flag. Set and verify it disabled before final review; duplication alone does not establish disabled state.
spectra-check-setupConfirms Spectra meets the floor and whether Pro is active; without Pro there are no display rules and the plan stops here.
spectra-duplicate-popupDeep-copies the spring popup's content, type, repetition and Pro meta into a new draft titled with a (Copy) suffix.
spectra-edit-popupRenames the copy and swaps its content; the post cache is flushed so the next read is current.
spectra-disable-popupSwitches the copy off explicitly, because duplicating does not by itself establish that the new popup is disabled.
spectra-get-popupRereads the copy and confirms its enabled flag is off before any display rule is written.
spectra-pro-set-popup-conditionsSets trigger time-delay, a 10 second delay and a blog-post inclusion bundle; inclusions and exclusions are replaced whole, not merged.
spectra-pro-list-popup-conditionsReads back the four stored keys so you can compare them with what you asked for.
Popup defaults, block pruning and editing uagb blocks on a page
A new Spectra popup is a draft, but already marked enabled
spectra-create-popup saves a draft by default, with the locked popup builder root block, popup_type modal and repetition 0. It also sets the enabled flag to true. While the post is a draft that flag does nothing visible, so the trap comes later: publishing the popup with spectra-edit-popup, or from the editor, makes it live at once, and on a site without Spectra Pro display rules a live enabled popup appears on every page.
The safe order for a Spectra MCP popup is to create it, call spectra-disable-popup straight away, write the content and, with Spectra Pro, the trigger and inclusion rules, publish, check it on a staging page, and only then call spectra-enable-popup. Enable and disable are ordinary writes that can be repeated safely. spectra-edit-popup is classed destructive because it can rewrite a live popup's content and status in one call, so on Production Safe it waits for confirm.
Pruning unused Spectra blocks without breaking old pages
Switching off blocks a site never uses is a common Spectra tidy-up, done with spectra-set-block-activation against the _uagb_blocks registry. The risk is a block that is unused in new work but still sitting in old posts: once disabled, Spectra stops loading its CSS and JavaScript, and those old copies render as unstyled HTML. Before disabling a block, have the agent run search-content for its block name, for example uagb/countdown, and list every hit; it covers public content types, so reusable blocks and private content deserve a look of their own. spectra-list-form-blocks does the same job for forms, capped at five hundred posts with a truncated flag.
Block activation is destructive in GoBuildWP's classification, so each toggle waits for confirm, and the write reads, modifies and saves the single registry option. That helper has no lock or compare-and-swap guard, so avoid concurrent admin toggles and read the registry again afterwards. Spectra's front-end and editor caches are flushed afterwards; a page cache in front of the site still needs its own purge.
Changing a Spectra block inside a page goes through the Gutenberg queue
The Spectra module manages popups, settings, fonts and the block registry. It does not edit a Spectra block that sits inside a page. That is the job of the core Gutenberg abilities: gutenberg-get-content reads the page's parsed block tree, spectra-get-block-schema shows a block's attributes, and the change is queued with gutenberg-add-pending-change and finalised in the Block Editor Queue page, because static blocks need the editor's JavaScript to save valid markup. Most static Spectra blocks define their attributes only in JavaScript, so the schema read is most useful for dynamic blocks such as forms and post grids; for the rest, copy the attributes from a block already on the page.
Spectra settings, fonts and the confirmation they need
spectra-set-editor-settings and spectra-set-google-fonts-mode are both destructive in GoBuildWP's terms, because they change CSS for every page at once. Switching fonts to local makes Spectra serve them from wp-content/uploads/spectra/; after the switch, check one page's network requests for any call still going to Google, which usually means a theme or another plugin loads the same family. Under Read Only, the agent can still read every setting, list fonts by source and list popups. The Spectra reference lists the whitelisted setting keys.
- "Create a disabled exit-intent popup for the ebook, scoped to blog posts, and show me its conditions before anything goes live."
- "Which Spectra blocks are active but never used in any published content?"
- "Read only: is Spectra loading Google Fonts locally, and from which of the three sources?"
Questions
Spectra questions
Can an AI read my Spectra form submissions?
No, because Spectra does not keep any. Submissions go out by email only; a mail-logging plugin or a form plugin with stored entries is the route if you need history.
Is Spectra the same integration as Spectra One?
No. Spectra is the block plugin; Spectra One is a block theme with its own module. If both are installed they can load the same Google Font twice, so configure fonts in one place.
Should Spectra host Google Fonts locally?
Local mode serves the font files from your own server instead of Google's CDN, which removes the third-party request. Preloading only matters once local mode is on, and the full-site-editing flag only affects block themes.
Will a popup show everywhere if I enable it?
On a free install, yes: without Pro display rules an enabled popup renders on every page. The skill warns before enabling one there.
