WoodMart MCP: where the theme bridge stops and WoodMart's panel begins

The honest answer for WoodMart MCP work is that most of WoodMart's design is out of the generic bridge's reach. WoodMart keeps its options in its own Theme Settings panel, with separate Header Builder and Layouts Builder storage, and none of that is the WordPress Customizer. GoBuildWP writes only theme_mod settings WoodMart genuinely registers there, and routes pages to Gutenberg, Elementor or WPBakery and store data to WooCommerce.

We want a new header colour and product page layout on our WoodMart store. What can you change directly, and what do I need to do in WoodMart?

  1. wppilot/theme-bridge-check-setupRead

Confirms adapter woodmart and returns the writable settings count and the vendor boundary notice.

  2. wppilot/theme-bridge-list-customizer-settingsRead

Searched for header and product; the result shows which of those, if any, WoodMart registers in the Customizer.

  3. wppilot/theme-bridge-update-customizer-settingsWrite

Used only for ids the list returned with writable true; the header builder's colours are not among them.

Limits

WoodMart surfaces the bridge will not write

  • Theme Settings, including its conditional presets, lives in WoodMart's own panel and storage, not in Customizer theme mods, so the bridge cannot change it.
  • Header Builder headers, Layouts Builder templates, HTML Blocks, sliders and product swatches are vendor-private and reported as unavailable.
  • Settings that look like code, tracking, analytics, licence or credential values stay redacted and read-only even if registered.
  • What the bridge can write, it writes with WoodMart's own sanitiser, 50 ids per call at most, and one ledger entry restores the theme mods row.

Abilities

Bridge calls on a WoodMart store

AbilityWhat it does hereUndo and limits
theme-bridge-check-setupReturns adapter woodmart, the number of registered and writable theme mods, and a notice naming Theme Settings, Header Builder, Layout Builder and Slider as surfaces it does not write.Read-only. A small writable count here is expected, not a fault.
theme-bridge-list-customizer-settingsShows what WoodMart and WordPress core actually register in the Customizer, searchable by terms such as shop or product.Anything missing from this list is not writable through the bridge, however it is labelled in WoodMart's panel.
theme-bridge-update-customizer-settingsPatches those registered settings through each one's validator and sanitiser under a per-site lock.Unknown, option-backed or sensitive ids are rejected per id; nothing is written to WoodMart's private options.

Shared theme bridge; do not add this count across themes. Edition and effect labels describe the source catalogue. The installed schema, dependency versions, licence, WordPress capability, safety profile and per-ability policy determine availability; labels alone do not prove confirmation or recovery.

Worked example

Checking what can change before a storefront refresh

Expected outcome to verify on the installed stack; this sequence has not been recorded as a runtime test.

You get a precise split: registered settings to reread and verify in the native UI, and a list of changes to make in Theme Settings, the Header Builder or the product Layout yourself. The agent does not report a header or layout change it could not make.

Use this page for discovery and limited registered Customizer support. Reread every changed setting and inspect the native UI; prepare Theme Settings and builder work through their own supported routes.

Theme workflows

Supported builder guides

  1. theme-bridge-check-setup

Confirms adapter woodmart and returns the writable settings count and the vendor boundary notice.

  2. theme-bridge-list-customizer-settings

Searched for header and product; the result shows which of those, if any, WoodMart registers in the Customizer.

  3. theme-bridge-update-customizer-settings

Used only for ids the list returned with writable true; the header builder's colours are not among them.

Data model

WoodMart's own panel, builders and post types

Xtemos documents Theme Settings as its own panel under WoodMart in wp-admin, with conditional presets that apply different settings by page or context, and a backup feature that excludes headers and layouts. Headers are made in the Header Builder, where a per-page choice beats a preset, which beats the default. The Layouts Builder stores shop, product, cart and checkout templates as woodmart_layout posts, built with whichever builder is chosen under Theme Settings, and HTML Blocks are their own post type.

So the Customizer, which the bridge reads through WordPress's settings registry, holds only what WoodMart and core still register there. The bridge never guesses the name of WoodMart's options row, and it will not substitute a PHP snippet or direct database write for a missing typed ability.

Other plugins

WoodMart with builders and WooCommerce

  • WoodMart pages are built with Gutenberg, Elementor or WPBakery. The skill identifies which one owns the page first and loads that builder's skill, and never copies content between their storage formats.
  • Products, variations and store configuration go through WooCommerce abilities; after a change the skill checks shop, product, cart, checkout and account pages.

Questions

WoodMart questions

Can an AI change WoodMart Theme Settings?

Not through GoBuildWP's bridge. That panel is WoodMart's own storage rather than Customizer theme mods, so the agent tells you what to change there instead.

Can it edit a WoodMart Elementor or WPBakery page?

Yes, through the Elementor or WPBakery abilities, once the skill has confirmed which builder owns the page.

Will it change my WoodMart header?

Header Builder layouts are vendor-private, so no. It can change a header-related setting only if WoodMart registers that setting in the Customizer.
