Page building use case
Build a WordPress landing page with ChatGPT, as a draft your editor can open.
Ask ChatGPT for a landing page in a plain chat and you usually get HTML to paste, which tends to end up in a Custom HTML block your builder cannot edit. Connected through GoBuildWP, ChatGPT writes the page in the format your site already uses, an Elementor document or block editor content, checked against the design rules stored on the site.
GoBuildWP Free + Pro, Works in ChatGPT, Runs under Production Safe, Pricing
Illustrative ability sequence for GoBuildWP Free 1.18.6 and Pro 1.12.4. IDs, results and recovery outcomes are examples, not a recorded client or WordPress test. Select Read Only explicitly for the initial reads; Production Safe is the default. Connection management requires manage_options on a single site or superadmin on multisite.
The problem
Generated HTML is not a WordPress page
A landing page pasted in as HTML ignores your theme's fonts, cannot be opened in your builder, and turns the next headline change into a developer ticket. It looks finished in the chat and becomes a maintenance problem on the site.
GoBuildWP changes what ChatGPT produces. It reads the design stored on the site first, writes the layout as a real Elementor document or staged block editor changes in a new draft, runs a design check and a rendered-page check, and hands you a preview. The page is yours to edit in the tools you already use.
What ChatGPT can do here
- Read the site's stored design rules: typefaces, palette and voice
- Write a complete Elementor page tree to a new draft with GoBuildWP Free, validated widget by widget
- Stage block editor changes through the Block Editor Queue on sites without a builder
- Check the draft against the design and read what the site actually served
- With Pro, build from one nested description, apply global classes and add a form
What it cannot do
- Be trusted with proof. The prompt asks for testimonials, numbers and logos to come from you or stay marked [CONFIRM], but a model can still invent one, so check every claim before publishing
- Finish a block editor page without a browser: the queue needs a tab open to finalise it
- Replace a look at the page on a phone. A valid document can still feel cramped at 390 pixels
- Reach a site on localhost. ChatGPT connects over public HTTPS only
The prompt
The prompt to paste into ChatGPT
The offer and the goal make it a landing page; the section list is the structure. Fill the brackets and leave [CONFIRM] where you have no fact yet.
- Reading the active design first is why the draft uses your fonts rather than ChatGPT's defaults.
- Writing to a new draft means the full-layout write has nothing to overwrite.
- The two checks catch different problems: one reads your rules, the other reads the served HTML.
Build a landing page draft for our spring workshop. Our site uses Elementor.
Offer: a two-day hands-on workshop for [AUDIENCE] in [CITY] on [DATES].
Goal: one action, "Reserve a seat", linking to [URL].
Sections: hero with the outcome, who it is for, what happens on each day, the teacher, practical details, FAQ, final call to action.
1. Read the active design first and use its typefaces, colours and voice. Do not add colours.
2. Create a new draft page and write the whole Elementor layout in one document.
3. Any price, date, testimonial or number I have not given you is [CONFIRM].
4. Run check-design and verify-rendered-page, fix what they flag, and give me a preview link.

Safety and recovery
A new draft is the safe place to build
- Safety profile
- Production Safe. The page is a new draft, so visitors see nothing until you publish it, as long as the run stays inside that draft. A new global class, variable or template from the Pro abilities would be site-wide and live at once, which is why the prompt says not to add colours.
- Change ledger
- The draft and the layout write are both recorded. capture-page can attach a screenshot to the layout entry, so the ledger shows what the page looked like.
- Rollback
- A full-layout write on an existing page replaces its tree, which is why it needs a confirmation flag. On a new draft there is nothing to overwrite; if you do not want the draft, move it to the Trash, where it stays restorable.

Before you publish
- Images come from your media library or URLs you give it. search-images finds openly licensed photos with attribution; check each licence anyway.
- Elementor abilities in Free write pages, not templates, popups or global styles.
- Landing page copy is only as strong as the offer you describe. The brief matters more than the model.
- Publishing is a separate change. Pro's approval queue can hold it for a second person.

Setup
From install to a first draft in ChatGPT
Store your design before you connect ChatGPT; it is the step that makes the draft look like your site.
Free writes the page: 18 Elementor abilities, block editor staging, GoBuildWP Design and the rendered-page checks.
Pro adds elementor-build-page, global classes, variables, templates and forms, plus Bricks, Divi, Breakdance and other builders.
Planning a run of campaign pages instead of one? The landing page brief builds comparable variants from the global classes you already have: AI landing page builder for WordPress.
Install GoBuildWP Free with Elementor active
Free covers the page write, the whole tree included. Add Pro later for elementor-build-page, which composes a page from one nested description, global classes and forms.
Store your design in GoBuildWP Design
Typefaces, colours and voice rules saved on the site give ChatGPT something concrete to follow.
Create the ChatGPT plugin
From ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button, then Create custom MCP server. Enter your site's public OAuth endpoint, ending in /wp-json/mcp/wppilot-oauth, configure OAuth, review the warning, then create and install the plugin. Your plan and workspace policy decide whether this option is available.
Open a new chat with the plugin
Type @, select the installed GoBuildWP plugin, then paste the brief.
Review the draft in Elementor
Check tablet and phone views in the editor, replace every [CONFIRM], then publish yourself.
Before the first prompt and after the first draft
No stored design yet? Adopt the one the site already has
The prompt starts by reading the active design, which assumes one is stored. On an established site you rarely need to write it from scratch. adopt-design-from-site reads what the site already expresses, the block theme's global styles, the customizer's standard colours and what a builder module can contribute, and returns a DESIGN.md draft. It saves nothing. Read the draft, add the reasoning only you know, such as which colour is reserved for calls to action and what tone the copy takes, then store it with save-design.
An incomplete design is saved as a draft and not activated, so a half-finished document never replaces a working one. Doing this once before you build a WordPress landing page with ChatGPT means every later page, not just this one, starts from your brand rather than from the model's defaults.
Asking for changes without rebuilding the page
The first draft is rarely the last. When you ask ChatGPT to change the headline or swap two sections, it should not rewrite the whole document, which replaces every element and loses edits you made in Elementor since. Ask for targeted changes instead, and the free Elementor abilities support them.
- elementor-get-content returns a compact skeleton of the page, then the full settings of only the part being changed.
- elementor-find-elements locates an element by what it says, such as the heading that reads "Reserve a seat", without reading the whole page.
- elementor-edit-element changes that element's settings and merges them over the rest; elementor-move-element reorders sections while keeping their ids and styles.
- If a write uses a control the widget does not have, it is refused with nothing saved and the widget's schema comes back, so ChatGPT can correct it and try again in the same turn.
What a realistic session looks like
Expect one conversation for the first draft and a second pass after you have looked at it on a phone. Most of the time goes on the parts the prompt cannot supply: final dates and prices replacing each [CONFIRM], an image you have the right to use, and a decision about the reservation link. The prompt leaves publishing to you, as a step you take in WordPress when the page reads right. If the published page needs a fix later, each layout write is in the change ledger, and an entry marked rollback available can be reversed with rollback-change, which overwrites any later edits to that page.
FAQ
Questions about how to build a WordPress landing page with ChatGPT
Can ChatGPT build a WordPress page directly?
Yes, once it is connected through GoBuildWP. It writes an Elementor document or staged block editor changes into a draft, rather than handing you HTML to paste.
Do I need Elementor?
No. Without a builder, the block editor route stages changes that a browser tab finalises in the Block Editor Queue. With Elementor, the page is written directly. Pro adds Bricks, Divi, Breakdance and more.
How is this different from the AI landing page builder brief?
That brief is the full campaign workflow in Pro, with variants and forms across builders. This page is the shortest path: ChatGPT, one page and the free plugin.
Will the page match my site?
It reads the design stored in GoBuildWP Design before writing, and check-design flags colours or type outside it. Without a stored design, put your fonts and colours in the brief.
Try it on staging first.
Install the free plugin, connect ChatGPT, and run the read-only half of this prompt before anything on the site changes.
